Information Available Concerning the Those Lost of the Bondi Shooting
A minimum of 16 lives perished and in excess of 40 were hurt when gunmen shot at a Hanukkah event at Bondi Beach, an attack Australian police are describing as a act of terrorism.
As of the newest reports, authorities have announced the death toll is 16, including one of the suspected gunmen. Additionally, 42 injured people were taken to medical facilities.
The deceased are still awaiting publicly named, but police believe their ages are from 10 and 87 years of age.

Eli Schlanger
London-born rabbi Eli Schlanger, 41, was initially identified.
Reportedly a father of five children, he worked as the assistant rabbi at Chabad of Bondi. Relatives and friends remembered him as “lively, dynamic, and vibrant and a very kind and sociable person who loved to help people”.
“How can a happy rabbi who went to a beach to share joy and positivity, to make the world a better place, lose his life in this way?” a relative asked.
Schlanger and his wife celebrated the birth of their newest son in October.
Alexander Kleytman
Alexander Kleytman was also among those killed, as stated by his wife.
She told the moments before the attack, saying they had been standing together when the gunfire began. “He shielded me because he wanted to stay near me,” she said.
The husband and wife were both survivors of the Holocaust, having endured immense hardship in their youth. They had subsequently relocated to Australia from Eastern Europe.
Dan Elkayam
The French authorities have announced that French national Dan Elkayam is among the victims.
Publicly, the Foreign Minister said that France mourned with his family, the Jewish community, and the Australian people.
“This low act is a fresh and tragic example of a disgusting rise of hatred against Jews that we must put a stop to,” the statement read.
One Child
A 10-year-old girl who was rushed to the a children's hospital has been confirmed among the fatalities, police have confirmed.
One Israeli Citizen
An Israeli citizen was a fatality in the incident, according to multiple sources referencing the Israeli foreign ministry.
Those Injured
From the 42 people transported to hospital, a significant number remain under care, with a number in a critical state. The injured include two police officers who responded to the attack.
One of the injured is a bystander who attempted to intervene to tackle one of the gunmen. Called a hero, he received gunshot wounds but is expected to recover in hospital.
Arsen Ostrovsky
One of those wounded is Arsen Ostrovsky, a human rights lawyer. It has been reported he was injured and is receiving treatment in hospital.
In a message, he described the scene as an “absolute bloodbath,” but also praised the actions of those who rushed to help. He stated he felt it was a “miracle” he was alive.
Evan Zlatkis
Evan Zlatkis, a community director, was another casualty in the attack. He told reporters he listened to “dozens and dozens” of gunshots.
“I thought it was rubber bullets, but it penetrated my own skin and into my leg,” he explained. “I sustained a gunshot wound. They bandaged me up. I’m ok.”
