Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.

One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

List of Charges

Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.
