Football Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football side," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
